CARE OF MATERIALS
The materials you borrow in class are for all students to use. Please be considerate to others by taking care of what you use. Materials that end up missing or damaged may not be able to be replaced, which affects all of us.
BE PROMPT
Students must be ready to learn when the bell rings. This means homework is out, pencils sharpened, new homework written down, and seated before the bell rings. Students should not be walking into class when the bell rings.
COMPLETION OF TASKS
It is expected that ALL students put forth their best effort in class at all times. For math, the most important display of effort is to show all work for each task. You will not be given credit for assignments if you fail to show ALL work.
SELF CONTROL
I would like to be able to treat you as the capable, mature young adults you are becoming. This part is up to you. Self monitoring is an essential part of development. There will be times when you will need to complete a task in a group. Please be aware of how your behavior is affecting the learning of others around you and monitor this.
FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
Following directions is very important, especially in math. Math often has multiple steps which requires your focus. If you listen and follow directions at all times, your experience in math will be much more successful.
BE CONSIDERATE
When someone is talking, please listen. Show the same respect to others that you expect from them.
SUBSTITUTE BEHAVIOR
When there is a substitute, it is expected that you treat them as the guest that they are. Just like a guest who comes to your home, we want them to see us at our best.
RESTROOM BREAKS
Students need to use the restroom during passing period. However, if there is an emergency, please let me know. Excessive restroom breaks are not permitted.
CELL PHONES
Students must keep cell phones turned off in their backpacks. This means that even if I see it in a pocket, I will need to confiscate it and have a parent come to pick it up. Also, please remember to have it turned off. If it rings during class, it will also be confiscated. Cell phones may occasionally be used for a math purpose. If this is the case, you may only use the phone as directed by the teacher.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Absolutely no food or drink is allowed in the classroom. The one exception is a water bottle. Please make sure the water has a lid to avoid accidental spills.
GUM CHEWING
Gum chewing is strictly prohibited at school. Please just leave it at home.
